Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how WhoDial, operated by Remington Hawk, a sole proprietor based in Florida ("WhoDial," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and API (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
| Category | Examples | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Email address | Provided by you at sign-up |
| Payment information | Billing details, subscription status | Processed and stored by Stripe — WhoDial does not store full card numbers |
| Lookup activity | Phone numbers you search, timestamps, usage counts | Generated by your use of the Service |
| Technical data | IP address, browser type | Collected automatically, used for rate limiting and abuse prevention |
2. How We Use Information
- To provide lookup results and operate your account;
- To process payments and manage subscriptions;
- To enforce rate limits and prevent abuse of the Service;
- To communicate with you about your account (e.g. magic-link sign-in emails, billing notices);
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Information
We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the Service, acting on our instructions:
- Payment processor — handles billing and subscription payments;
- Telecommunications data providers — used to generate lookup results for the numbers you search;
- Email service provider — sends sign-in and account emails;
- Hosting and infrastructure provider — runs the application and database.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of WhoDial or others.
4. Data Retention
We retain account and billing information for as long as your account is active, and lookup activity logs for as long as needed for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and legal compliance. You can request deletion of your account as described in Section 6.
5. Security
We use industry-standard measures, including server-side access controls and encrypted connections, to protect information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your Privacy Rights
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting support@whodial.app. We will respond within a reasonable time.
California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, request correction of inaccurate information, and opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information.
We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, so no opt-out mechanism is required. To exercise your other rights, contact us at support@whodial.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Other U.S. State Privacy Rights
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Texas, Montana, and other states with similar privacy laws have comparable rights to know, access, correct, and delete their personal information, and to opt out of its sale. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information, so these rights are already satisfied by our practices. Contact support@whodial.app to exercise any of these rights.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed to individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
